HMS IT is proud to introduce the Storage Usage Monitor, a new tool designed to provide interactive reports and visualizations on storage usage across HMS filesystems. Beginning June 30, 2021, the visualizations will be available to all quad-based labs with top-level storage folders greater than 1TiB. Future roll-outs are expected for additional stakeholder groups.
The Storage Usage Monitor was created by members of the HMS IT Storage Usage Reporting and Visualization (SURV) Project, whose aim is to provide accurate, interactive reports and visualizations of storage usage to groups to proactively manage their short and long-term data management needs.
Access to the HMS IT Storage Usage Monitor will be automatically provided to all identified responsible parties of storage folders (most often a PI) and their designated Lab Data Managers (if applicable). Further information about how to access and utilize the web-based tool is available in the Storage Usage Monitor documentation.
We welcome and appreciate any feedback as we continue to improve upon the existing design. Direct all questions and comments about the tool to rdmhelp@hms.harvard.edu.
