Business Systems Architecture

Led by Douglas Skillins, Managing Director, the Business Systems Architecture team leads the development of workflow applications and the capture, storage, security, governance, quality, and delivery of data to HMS members across the administrative and education domains. These efforts facilitate business intelligence for meaningful institutional reporting over time.

Education and Research Technology

Teaching Research

Led by Lindsey Sudbury, Managing Director, the Education and Research Technology team empowers faculty, researchers, and educators by bridging the gap between technology and School outcomes.

The Education Technology team aligns educational technology and audiovisual solutions with pedagogical goals to enhance faculty and student experiences both in classrooms and in hybrid or clinical settings. The research teams connect researchers with high-performance computing resources, research, and data management expertise, specialized technology support for labs, and secure environments for sensitive or regulated data projects.

Information Security

Protects the School’s reputation, business operations, research, and academic missions
Manage risk Defense

Led by Michael Sardaryzadeh, Chief Information Security Officer, the Information Security team protects the School’s reputation, business operations, research, and academic missions through a mix of proactive defense, identity and access management, incident response, continuous training, policies, and strategic risk assessment, adapting to evolving threats.

Infrastructure

Led by Jeffrey Farese, Chief Technology Officer, the Infrastructure team ensures that reliable, robust, and secure IT systems are available to support research and institutional goals. The team builds and maintains the foundational end-user and back-end technology that HMS campus networking, storage, servers, databases, and data centers rely on.

Support IT projects

Led by Cristol Grey, Associate Chief Information Officer for IT Operations, the Operations team supports the students, staff, faculty, and researchers who leverage HMS technology every day. This includes providing direct on-campus and remote help with user software and hardware, communicating about technology changes and incidents, managing a vast portfolio of technology projects, and overseeing administrative and business needs for the IT department.
