Tools and spaces for teaching and learning

Led by David Bozzi, Senior Director, Education Technology is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of the services that enable technology-enhanced teaching and learning across HMS. The team helps educators, learners, and academic leadership by aligning educational technologies, learning platforms, audiovisual systems, simulation environments, and custom media. This work supports innovative pedagogy, rigorous assessment, and equitable access to learning.

Advances medical education with the learning platforms, course design support, and analytics that power teaching across HMS.
Learning tech Pedagogy

The Teaching and Learning Technologies team is responsible for the tools that support pedagogical and curricular design and delivery across the School. The team helps faculty, administrators, staff, and students integrate technology and digital media to advance medical education. 

The team supports learning management platforms and collaboration systems for distance and traditional learning. It also offers learning design and accessibility support to help educators build effective, inclusive courses. Its course statistics and learner analytics give faculty insight into learner progress. These services support on-campus, blended, and online learning. 

AV Systems and Support

Designs, installs, and supports the audiovisual systems that power classrooms, meeting rooms, and event venues.
AV systems Event support

The AV Systems and Support team is responsible for the institutional audiovisual standards and AV operations across campus spaces. The team helps the HMS community teach and collaborate across campus spaces. 

The team provides AV systems design and installation in classrooms, meeting rooms, and event venues, and manages their maintenance. It also offers AV support and troubleshooting, including proactive equipment monitoring and timely fixes. Its event support covers both standard and specialized setups. 

Clinical and Medical Simulation Technology

Provides the simulation technology and technical support behind hands-on clinical training and assessment at the Clinical Skills Center.
Sim tech OSCE support

The Clinical and Medical Simulation Technology team is responsible for the technical foundation of clinical training at the Clinical Skills Center. The team helps students, faculty, and staff run simulations and assessments with reliable technology. 

The team provides simulation technology support, managing the Clinical Skills Center’s audiovisual infrastructure and specialized simulation software. It also offers examination support, overseeing Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) to ensure real-time monitoring, data integrity, and rapid troubleshooting. Its recording and review keeps exam-room AV equipment maintained and secures session recordings for later use. 

Custom Video Production

Produces professional video and live-streaming for HMS, including documentary filming and studio recording at the Countway Video Production Studio.
Video studio Streaming

The Custom Video Production team is responsible for high-quality video produced for a range of needs and budgets. The team partners with clients to develop concepts and to manage each project from initial planning through final delivery. 

The team provides video production, including on-location documentary-style filming, multi-camera studio production, motion graphics, and video and audio editing. It also offers live-streaming support for special events. The team operates the Countway Video Production Studio, a fully equipped facility for recording interviews, group discussions, panel presentations, and podcasts.
