Improvements to the Researcher Storage Usage Monitor Dashboard

HMS IT is proud to announce improvements to the Researcher Storage Usage Monitor, a tool that provides interactive reports and visualizations on storage usage across HMS filesystems. The update allows users to log in to the tool without connecting to the HMS virtual private network (VPN).

The tool was created by the HMS IT Storage Usage Reporting and Visualization (SURV) Project to provide live, accurate, interactive reports and visualizations of storage usage to groups to proactively manage data storage.

The tool is available to all quad-based principal investigators and lab data managers with top-level storage folders greater than one tebibyte (TiB). Access to the HMS IT Researcher Storage Usage Monitor is automatically provided to all identified responsible parties of storage folders (most often a PI) and their designated Lab Data Managers (if applicable). Future roll-outs are expected for additional stakeholder groups.

Further information about how to access and utilize the web-based tool is available in the knowledge base article "Using the HMS IT Storage Usage Monitor". We welcome and appreciate any feedback as we continue to improve upon the existing design. Please direct all questions and comments about the tool to rdmhelp@hms.harvard.edu
