Next-gen sequencing (NGS) and analysis software

DNASTAR Lasergene is for researchers and scientists working within the HMS network. It offers features like designing primers, performing multiple sequence alignments, assembling and analyzing NGS sequencing data, and more. Whether you are working on a complex scientific project or need to process large amounts of data, Lasergene provides the tools to make your work easier and more efficient.

Eligibility

Available to HMS on-quad faculty, staff and students

Lasergene is licensed for use only on the HMS network and is available to HMS on-quad faculty, staff, and students. 

Note – Hospital affiliates are not eligible for this service.

Boston Children's Hospital affiliates can contact BCH Research Computing to use Lasergene at BCH: researchcomputing@childrens.harvard.edu.

Security

Ensure responsible use of network licenses
Licenses

You must only run Lasergene when used, as network licenses are limited. Quit Lasergene when you are done using it. If you leave Lasergene running on your computer, it still consumes a license. This ensures that the software remains available to all eligible users.
