Utilize repair services

HMS IT facilitates repair services for Harvard-owned Apple and Dell computers while under warranty.

In some cases, HMS IT may be able to facilitate an out-of-warranty repair; in such instances, a billing code would be required. Departments are responsible for all repair costs.

Eligibility

Staff and faculty can request repairs for their Harvard-owned computers.
Harvard-owned Apple, Dell

Harvard-owned computers covered under the manufacturer's warranty are eligible for repair services. If an out-of-warranty repair is recommended, departments are responsible for the full cost of parts and labor.

Timeline

On average between five and seven business days.
On-site Backorders

Computer repairs are typically shipped to a repair depot, and the turnaround averages 5-7 business days. If parts are on backorder, this timeline may be extended. Next-day on-site support is typically available for Dell computers under warranty if preferred (pending part availability).
