HMS guest accounts provide access to several services at HMS.

Note – Due to licensing agreements, guest accounts will not have online access to online journals through Harvard Library.

A sponsor must request an HMS guest account. Sponsors must be a Harvard Medical School faculty or staff who have an active Harvard ID number. Sponsors may ask that a guest account be active for up to one year. They may request an extension when needed.

Sponsor a guest

To sponsor someone eligible for a guest account, fill out an HMS Guest User Request Form. You will receive a guest key after filling out the form. Give this guest key to the guest you are sponsoring.

To request a guest account extension, fill out the HMS Guest Account Extensions Form.

Note – If you are a Wyss Institute staff member or Wyss affiliate requesting a guest account, you must submit a request through email to Wyss HR and Academic Affairs by emailing AcademicAffairs@wyss.harvard.edu

Person of interest (POI) access

A Person of Interest (POI) designation is the mechanism Harvard uses to validate identities so that access to physical or digital resources can be granted to non-employees, non-students, and non-academic appointment holders. A member of the Harvard community must act as the sponsor for a POI request and in doing so, the POI sponsor provides a legitimate and verified business need to justify giving access to Harvard resources to the POI.
