Set up Okta Verify to access Microsoft 365 by June 8

To create a more consistent and secure sign-in experience, HMS IT will update the Microsoft 365 productivity suite to require Okta Verify for authentication on June 8, 2026.

HMS IT has individually contacted all on-quad faculty and staff who still need to take action before this change and assigned those users to support waves. To ensure uninterrupted access, they must set up Okta Verify for their HMS account.

The Microsoft 365 suite includes Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

The June 8 transition is part of a Harvard-wide move toward requiring Okta Verify and FastPass for authentication. To confirm your Okta Verify setup is complete, review the news article on the IT website.
