Harvard Slack is an accessible platform for students, faculty, and staff, allowing real-time chat and efficient document sharing. Whether using the Slack app or incorporating it into a Canvas course, it's tailored for seamless collaboration surrounding teaching, learning, and research activities.

Eligibility

Workspaces are for HMS staff, on-quad faculty, and student groups.

Only HMS staff, on-quad faculty members, and student groups can request Harvard Slack Enterprise Grid workspaces.

Note – Hospital business, including graduate medical education, hospital-based research, or clinical departmental activities, is not eligible.

Security

Secure and compliant with Harvard standards.

User information and data are safeguarded to meet the institution's strict compliance requirements. Real-time security features ensure immediate threat detection.

Licensing

Maintain cost-effective communication.

Slack licenses are paid for by Harvard Medical School IT in support of on-quad research, administration, and education programs only.  

Fees are incurred for each HarvardKey user or Multi-channel guest. Single-channel guests are free but restricted to one channel per workspace. 

We will require confirmation of on-quad department sponsorship prior to provisioning a new workspace.
