New-hires and replacements prioritized
The University is asking us to prioritize the following needs during this period:
- New hire computer setups
- Replacements for non-functioning equipment
- Devices that don't meet IT security requirements
If your need falls outside these categories, we recommend waiting until pricing stabilizes before ordering.
Changes to standard configurations
Standard Dell configurations in Buy-to-Pay no longer reflect HMS contracted pricing. Pricing for current HMS computer standards might change frequently during this period, and configuration options might be limited. Contact HMS IT for assistance with quotes and up-to-date pricing.
Lead times for Apple computers
The Dell supply shortage does not affect Apple computers. However, HMS IT is seeing longer lead times on new Apple hardware. If you are planning to purchase a Mac, allow extra time for delivery.
