To keep the applications you rely on working, HMS IT strongly recommends waiting to upgrade to macOS 27 Golden Gate. Major new versions of macOS can introduce bugs that affect critical applications. We will confirm when macOS 27 works with HMS systems, likely in December or January. We will let you know when it is safe to upgrade.
If Apple prompts you to upgrade, dismiss the prompt for now. If you must upgrade sooner, contact HMS IT first so we can check that your applications will still work.
Keep installing security updates
Our security guidance requires you to install security updates promptly. macOS 27 is a feature upgrade, not a security update, so that requirement does not apply to it. Keep installing the smaller updates for your current version of macOS as they arrive.

See the list of supported operating systems on the HMS IT Service Portal. If your Mac is running a version that is no longer supported, upgrade to macOS 26 Tahoe, the latest supported version.
