HMS IT applied several feature updates to allow automatic email notifications be sent to labs when their O2 folders (/n/groups or /n/data2) are approaching or have reached the storage limit. The emails include suggested next steps, including how to request additional storage.  

Storage limits and email notifications are designed to allow lab members to continue to conduct research, with the goal of preventing individuals from filling up the entire storage system and impacting other researchers. Prior to these feature updates, labs were unable to be notified automatically; the updates allow for more timely notifications to labs. 

To check your storage limit or usage, O2 users can use the quota-v2 tool to check O2 filesystem usage and quotas. For more information, please see our Filesystem Quotas wiki page.
